Sandé Lollis is an award-winning San Diego-based vocalist and songwriter renowned for her ability to weave captivating stories through her music. Drawing inspiration from personal experiences, conversations overheard in cafes, favorite books, and random thoughts, she crafts original melodies paired with introspective lyrics that explore the complexities of love, heartbreak, and life's twists and turns. Her voice and honest lyrics have struck a chord with listeners, with many praising her ability to connect on a deep emotional level. Cathryn Beeks has been sharing original music and shining a light on the folks who make it since her first podcast in San Diego in 2004 called The Listen Local Show. She debuted her brand “Listen Local” in 2003 offering acoustic showcases, festivals, podcasts, web shows and more in an effort to introduce folks to music makers, creatives, and inspiring people/places/things in San Diego and beyond. She's been making her own music, too, with the help of her talented friends since 1998. This year, Cathryn began performing solo and with her band, The Ordeal. A Three-Day Celebration of Borrego Springs Jimmy’s Outrageous Front Porch Revue once again delighted audiences over three vibrant days at the Borrego Springs Performing Arts Center. Known locally for its eclectic blend of entertainment, this annual event featured spirited musical performances, hilarious comedy sketches, and heartfelt moments that brought the community together. On Saturday evening, the festivities included a special highlight—the presentation of the 2025 Desert Warrior Award by Anza-Borrego Foundation President Dave Van Cleve and Executive Director Bri Fordem. Recipients Diana and Lowell Lindsay were honored for their dedication to the desert region, recognized for their decades of advocacy and education. (see image below)
