Share

Acquisition Aimed at Protecting and Expanding Local Access to Culturally Competent Care

DAP Health successfully acquired Borrego Health’s assets, combining the two healthcare systems into one integrated entity. Together, they serve 100,000 patients across 25 Southern California clinics with 850 dedicated employees.

Preserving Local Access to Comprehensive Care

With this integration, DAP Health and Borrego Health will now jointly offer a wide range of services, including primary care, infectious diseases, gender-affirming care, LGBTQ+ care, mental health, dentistry, harm reduction, recovery services, affordable housing, and social services. Borrego Health’s disciplines, including family medicine, women’s health (including OB-GYN), pediatrics, veterans’ health, geriatrics, urgent care, and pharmacy services, will now come under DAP Health’s expansive umbrella.

A Shared Mission for Health Equity

The combined entity aims to build a brighter future where everyone, regardless of their background or location, has equal opportunity to live a healthy and fulfilling life. The mission will be achieved through a holistic, patient-centered care model that addresses all social determinants of health (SDOH) affecting the patient population. By removing barriers to care and enhancing access to essential services, DAP Health seeks to increase patients’ quality and length of life, fostering true health equity in the community.

Staying Local, Retaining Employees, and Expanding Care

Notably, every DAP Health and Borrego Health location will remain open, maintaining their original names, branding, and signage for the time being. All Borrego Health employees have been offered employment at DAP Health, with an overwhelming 99% accepting to join the unified entity. This continuity ensures that patients can now make appointments at any of the expanded system’s locations, providing greater convenience and accessibility to quality healthcare services.

Community Collaboration for Positive Impact

In the coming year, DAP Health’s leadership team will analyze social determinants impacting patients and collaborate with community organizations, government agencies, and businesses to enhance health outcomes, introducing new programs and services with improved facilities.
