It all began on September 16th, 2021, when a group of music enthusiasts led by His Excellency Supreme Sultan Randy “R Dub!” Williams decided to break away from the constraints of their current nation and form a new one – The United Territories of the Sovereign Nation of The People’s Republic of Slowjamastan.
Their goal was simple: to create a utopia where the sweet sounds of slow jams, bossa nova, and 90s hip-hop would reign supreme. And so, on December 1st, 2021, Slowjamastan officially declared independence.
The new nation quickly gained recognition from an unlikely source – the Supreme Sultan’s mother. She was so impressed by her son’s leadership skills and the nation’s commitment to slow jams that she insisted on becoming the first ambassador to Slowjamastan.
Slowjamastan’s capital, Dublândia, quickly became a hot spot for music lovers from all over the world. Tourists flocked to the city to catch a glimpse of the Supreme Sultan and to experience the unique blend of cultures and languages found in Slowjamastan. The official language of the nation was English with GFA (General Foreign Accent), but Portuguese and Spanish were also recognized languages.
The nation’s political system was a dictatorship, with a political stance of “Don’t start no sh t, won’t be no sh t.” The national anthem was “Slowjamastan (I Think It’s Gonna Be an Awesome Place),” and the slogan was “Libertas. Honor. Respectus.” (Freedom, Honor, Respect).
Slowjamastan’s time zone was SST (Slowjamastan Standard Time), and the national currency was the Duble (which rhymed with Ruble). The national animal was the raccoon (ringtail) and the preferred music genres were, of course, slow jams, bossa nova, and 90s hip-hop.
As the nation continued to grow and thrive, one thing became clear: Slowjamastan truly was an awesome place. The Supreme Sultan and his team had succeeded in creating a utopia where the love of music brought people together, and where the slow jam reigned supreme.
So if you ever find yourself in Slowjamastan, be sure to catch a slow jam concert, take a tour of Dublândia, and maybe even catch a glimpse of the Supreme Sultan himself. And remember, as the nation’s motto goes: Libertas. Honor. Respectus.
