In our exploration of Anza Borrego State Park, we were fortunate to encounter the desert shaggy mane, Podaxis Pistillaris, in a somewhat unexpected location – near the historic Calcite Mine. This area, known for its geological significance and scenic beauty, also proved to be a nurturing ground for these fascinating mushrooms.
